Carey being the former Vezina Trophy-winning goalie for the Washington Capitals and not the comedian. After winning the award in 1996 as the league's best goaltender, Carey faded into mediocrity and obscurity. Currently, Michal Neuvirth and Semyon Varlamov are looking to break a trend in net that has seen the team jump from one lousy goaltender to the next, with Neuvirth suddenly holding an edge in play over his rival/ teammate.
